Sunrise at Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park

This morning we drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park to watch the sunrise.  What a great experience! We joined other early risers on this chilly September morning…some were there to take pictures, others were there to just take in the beauty.  It was windy and cold and my tripod took a tumble (the lens took the impact, thankfully the camera worked fine but it looks like I’ll be buying a new lens), but the experience was worth it.

Waiting for the sunrise.

Max came with us and he was a little bit bored but he did serve a purpose — warming up the people who needed some dog love (and there were a lot of them).

Max waiting for the big moment.

The people around us were so friendly and happy, and when the sun made its appearance, people cheered and clapped.
